Factors which affects our skin:The days are getting longer, the weather is warming up and we Nulavance are beginning to think more about those summer vacations and what we need to do in order for us to be able to wear those new outfits that show off our 'beautiful suntanned skin'. To achieve the look we are after we need to use a simple skincare regime. What do I mean by a simple skincare regime? We all know that the sun's rays are very damaging to our skin along with tanning beds which have now been banned for the under 18 year olds.

Besides causing serious cell damage, the effects of the sun also dry out our skin. Basically when we sunbathe it is similar to us putting a piece of meat under a grill (we are baking our bodies).Getting a sun tan is not a bad thing if it is done very gradually and during the earlier hours of the day or later hours of the day. Usually the dangerous times to avoid are between 11.00am to 3pm. Sunburn is very painful and can ruin part of your vacation.

If you do get sunburned then treat it like any other burn. Basically stay in cold water until (ie pool) the heat has gone out of the burn and then apply natural after sun products, lavender oil is excellent for healing burns. But before you go on your vacation you need to look after your skin so that it is in the best condition possible for the abuse that holidays do to it. What I mean by that is over eating, drinking, lack of sleep basically all the opposite advice of what you should do to care for your skin.
